The Iron Tortoise Manufactory takes a dim view of unnecessary data collection. Our mechanical contraption runs entirely within your own computing apparatus and transmits no information — none whatsoever — to any external party. This is a point of engineering pride.

The Mechanism of Privacy

Iron Tortoise is a self-contained browser application. All computation — the physics of each leap, the rotation of every cog, the count of every hazard avoided — occurs within your own browser's JavaScript engine. Our servers, such as they are, receive no data from your session because no data is sent.

The High-Score Ledger

To preserve your finest recorded distance between visits, Iron Tortoise inscribes a single number into your browser's local storage. This local ledger exists only on your device. We have no key to open it, no mechanism to read its contents, and no way to alter or delete it from our end. You may clear it yourself through your browser's site-data settings, should you wish to begin anew.

No Surveillance Apparatus

We employ no tracking technologies of any description. Iron Tortoise contains no analytics engines, no advertising beacons, no behavioural profiling systems, and no session monitoring. What you do within the game is entirely your own affair.

The Google Typeface Foundry

The Playfair Display and Lato typefaces are supplied by Google Fonts, a public content delivery service. Fetching these fonts causes your browser to make a standard network request to Google's servers. Google may record metadata from this request, including your IP address, in accordance with their own privacy policy. We are not party to this exchange and receive nothing from it.

Minors and Apprentices

Iron Tortoise contains nothing unsuitable for younger players. Because we collect no information from any user, there is no mechanism by which a child's data could be captured or misused through this game. Parents need not concern themselves on this account.

Amendments to This Document

Should the terms of this privacy declaration require revision, an updated version shall appear on this page with a new date of record. Any change involving the collection of personal information would be stated clearly and explicitly before taking effect.
